We've just had our new computer suite fitted by our fantastic and computer literate volunteers Matt (pictured) and Malcolm. With funding from The Big Lottery we were able to buy 6 reconditioned desktop computers, which will mainly be used for training.
We will soon be running basic computer skills courses and we will also be using these computers to help people prepare for the Health and Safety Test required to get a CSCS card. We have funding to cover the costs involved in obtaining the CSCS card for a certain number of local people. If you're interested in this, or in our computer skills workshops, get in touch at - firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07876223622.
Thanks to funding from the People's Health Trust we have been able to install a shiny new stairlift - so now everyone will be able to access the events/workshops/ counselling sessions/ self help groups etc that take place upstairs. At CentrePeace we aim to be as inclusive as possible in the services we offer to the local community and the new stairlift is another step in that direction.
<----Here you can see Sue giving it a trial run!
The first training course of the new year is a CV workshop facilitated by Julie Bose. The workshop runs over 2 sessions - 10am-12pm Saturday 18th and 10am-12pm Saturday 25th January.
The workshop is open to anybody. Even if you don't think you have anything to put on a CV Julie will help you to realise that you do e.g. aspects of your personality or non-job related activities.
